John Carvalho Denounces U.S. Departure From Paris Climate Accord

John Carvalho’s statement regarding today’s departure of the United States from the Paris Climate Accord: “The U.S. departure from the Paris Climate Accord is reckless, irresponsible, and will have a negative impact on the U.S. and global economies. Already, the budgets of the 50 states are being strained by forest fires, floods, tornadoes, the erosion of our coastlines, and other adverse affects from global climate change. We are at a tipping point. The actions we take now can mitigate future calamities or enhance them. At a time when America needs to advance green energy technology and protect our precious resources to further job growth and a better quality of life, the White House has decided to ignore the warnings of scientists and ethicists and, instead, embark on a perilous journey towards climate catastrophe. Future generations will look back on this day with contempt.
